Pupil Premium
What is Pupil Premium?
The Pupil Premium is funding provided to schools which is additional to main school funding. It is allocated to raise the attainment of Free School Meals (FSM) pupils and close the gap in attainment between FSM and non-FSM pupils.
It is allocated according to the number of pupils on-roll who are eligible for free school meals (FSM). It is also allocated to children who have been ‘looked-after’ by the Local Authority continuously for more than six months and to children whose parents are currently serving in the armed forces. In 2012, funding was extended to include pupils who have been eligible for free school meals within the past 6 years.

The Governing Body, Headteacher and teachers will decide how to use the Pupil Premium allocation. As a school we are committed to raising the aspirations and attainment of all our pupils. We are aware that, nationally, certain groups of children are at risk of not making the progress they should. Our priority therefore is to ‘Narrow the Gap’ between what is currently being achieved and what could potentially be achieved and raising the attainment of all. This may well include measures to raise self-esteem, broaden horizons and to give children opportunities that would otherwise not have been available to them.
Please read the information below which gives details of our Pupil Premium Grant and how we allocate the funding.
