In English, we teach writing across a range of genres. We also link writing tasks to our topic work.

This half-term we are looking at playscripts. We will be reading a play called A Tune of Lies by Lou Kuenzler. We will explore the central themes and ideas of friendship and lying whilst developing our understanding of a playscript through drama and writing our own endings to the play. We will also be looking at instructional texts where we will learn how to write clear instructions, linking back to our geography topic on Earthquakes. 

We have a stand-alone punctuation and grammar lesson every week to help develop our writing skills.
