Geography 

This term's geography topic is based around map work.  The children will name the regions, counties and some major cities of the United Kingdom.  They will also use the points of the compass, symbols and keys to find features and locations on maps.  The children will locate places on a map and understand how to use 4-figure grid references.

Art

The children will be learning about Georges Seurat and Pointillism, the style in which he painted.

They will explore how to create art using pointillism.  They will create their own piece of pointillism artwork.

PSHE

Drugs Education is this term's P.S.H.E topic.  The children will begin by identifying medicines that we need  and distinguish between safe and harmful substances.  They will learn to assess risk and understand that people have different attitudes towards risk.  They will increase their awareness of knowing how to make informed, responsible choices.

French

The children will continue to learn French using the new Language Angels scheme of learning. Their French topic this term is called Au Salon de thé - At the Tearoom.  The children will learn to name items of food and drink that they would order at a French tearoom and learn how to order food and drink and pay for them.

Computing

In Computing the children will be using the Purple Mash branching database application 2Question which links closely with the Science topic. They can practice these skills further by logging onto Purple Mash at home.

Music

In music the children will listen and appraise music linked to different styles.  They will resume learning to play the glockenspiels.

R.E.

This term's topic is What do we learn from religions when deciding what is right or wrong? 

They will continue building on their learning from the previous term in understanding how people decide what is right and wrong without God's help.  They will learn what R.E stories teach people of faith about temptations.  The children will understand how religious teachings help to inform people's actions.
