Foundation subjects

As Historians we will learn about who the Romans were and why they built an empire, why they invaded Britain and built new roads and towns. We will find out about who Boudicca was and why she started a rebellion, Hadrian's wall and also what it was like to live in a Roman Villa. Excitingly, in the last week of this term, we will have a Roman day  where we will dress as Romans and have a feast and learn about Roman life - I will send further information shortly.

As scientists, we will learn about Human Impact on the Environment.

 Our lessons will include:

  • What is the impact of litter in our school?

  • How do materials change over time?

  • How do microplastics get into the foodchain?

  • How can we prevent microplastics getting into our seas and oceans?

  • How can we clean up birds affected by an oil spill?

In Computing we will learn about online safety and health, well-being and lifestyle.

In French we will learn about ordering food in a tea room.

As Musicians, we will learn about instruments of the orchestra, major and minor keys and melancholic songs.

In PSHE we are thinking about keeping safe.

As artists we will study and take inspiration from the work of William Morris.
